VC York Weekly Bulletin - 3rd May 2017

Here’s your weekly VC York bulletin:

IN RECENT RACING:

Pete Hook and Jonny Apaloo were in the NYERRL Round #1 race on the Pennypot circuit last Thursday night. Jonny came in 9th. Click here for a full race report. Jonny also raced in the 2nd Chevin series race on Tuesday 2nd May. Details in next week's bulletin.

Pete Hook was in the Yorkshire Clarion TT on Saturday. A tough 23mile rolling course. He finished 11th overall.

On Sunday, Chris Clark did the North of England regional MTB XC Championships at Aske Moor, Richmond, finishing 2nd in the Veteran Male category. He admits "I didn't ride as well as I'd hoped on a superb new and very tough course. A deserving winner, but I was disappointed not to put up a better fight."

COMING UP:

Pete HookJonny Apoloo and Nikul Kansara will line up in the Ilkley Two Day this weekend.

Jonny will be in in action in the third Chevin race next Tuesday night (9th May) and second NYERRL race on Thursday (11th May). After that he'll take a well earned rest.

Chris will not contest the Midlands XC race this Saturday despite it being on the National Championship course. He'll take a short break from racing after a great Spring and some fantastic results. He's happy with his season so far.

Good luck, lads.

IN OTHER NEWS:

Chaingangs continue as normal on Tuesday and Thursday. Meet at 6pm at the deliveries entrance to B&Q on Osbaldwick Link Road.

Make sure you're in the correct group for your ability so you and everybody else can get the best training session. Keep it smooth, call out potholes and cars, be very careful at junctions and speak to eachother throughout. If somebody is surging, let them know, and if somebody tells you you're doing something wrong, it's not personal and it's for the good of the group.

Above all, obviously, stay safe and have a good ride.

Keep the race updates coming. Good luck in your upcoming races and stay safe on the roads.
