VC York Weekly Bulletin - 19th May 2017

Here’s your weekly VC York bulletin (with apologies for its lateness):

IN RECENT RACING:

Pete Hook took two wins in local TTs last week. Malton Wheelers 10mile TT and then the Clifton/Cycleworks 10mile TT on Thursday. Neil Kerry also raced in the Clifton/Cycleworks TT, coming in a very respectable 9th place. Great work, lads.

Chris Clark had poor luck in the National MTB XC Series, Round 3 at Aske Moor with a mechanical bringing an early end to his race.

COMING UP:

Pete Hook has a couple more club TTs coming up and might race in the Boltby Bash MTB Endure this weekend.

Pete also asks if anyone would be interested in riding the Team TT National Champs on 18th June. He needs a team of three riders.

IN OTHER NEWS:

The Tuesday night route change to Malton has proved very popular. It's a great training route. Whilst resurfacing of the Tollerton road has finished, rumours are that the Flaxton road is next on the list, so it's likely we'll keep the Malton route in place for a while longer.

As always, chaingangs meet at B&Q deliveries entrance on Osbaldwick Link Road at 6pm, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Make sure you're in the correct group for your ability so you and everybody else can get the best training session. Keep it smooth, call out potholes and cars, be very careful at junctions and speak to eachother throughout. If somebody is surging, let them know, and if somebody tells you you're doing something wrong, it's not personal and it's for the good of the group.

Weekend rides, as always, are 9am Saturdays and Sundays from the bus shelter opposite Joseph Rowntree Theatre on Haxby Road. Distance and route is generally decided on the day.

Above all, obviously, stay safe and have a good ride.

Keep the race updates coming. Good luck in your upcoming races and stay safe on the roads.
