VC York Weekly Bulletin - 12th May 2017

Here’s your weekly VC York bulletin (with apologies for its lateness):

IN RECENT RACING:

Rob Pape: "Decided on a late entry for the Cycleworks E123 on Saturday down at the circuit, after a furious first 20 mins of attacking mainly from Phil we established an 8 man break. We worked well together and stayed away I finished 7th and Phil 8th, was a very fast race with an avg speed of 27mph."

Jonny, Pete H and Nikul raced in the Ilkley 2 day. Pete reports that it was a great event but unfortunately did not finish. Jonny completed all four stages.

Jonny Apaloo also competed in the Chevin race on Tuesday 9th and the NYERRL race on Thursday 11th. Top effort.

Well done, lads.

COMING UP:

Pete Hook has a couple of club TTs coming up.

Chris Clark will be up against the best in the country in the HSBC National MTB XC Series Round 3 on Sunday at Aske Moor.

Good luck, lads.

IN OTHER NEWS:

Due to resurfacing works near Tollerton, we've temporarily changed the Tuesday route to the old Malton route. It's a bit hillier than the Easingwold route but is a great ride. We'll keep this route in place until we hear more about the situation at Tollerton. As always, meet at 6pm at the deliveries entrance to B&Q on Osbaldwick Link Road.

Make sure you're in the correct group for your ability so you and everybody else can get the best training session. Keep it smooth, call out potholes and cars, be very careful at junctions and speak to eachother throughout. If somebody is surging, let them know, and if somebody tells you you're doing something wrong, it's not personal and it's for the good of the group.

Above all, obviously, stay safe and have a good ride.

Keep the race updates coming. Good luck in your upcoming races and stay safe on the roads.
