Apologies for the lack of updates recently. We’re in the off-season for road, but there’s loads of racing going on elsewhere to be reported.
Pete Hook has been smashing it up hills, coming 3rd in the Stockton Wheelers Hill Climb two weeks ago.
Andy Johnson is back on the cross bike and going well, taking 10th Senior at Holmfirth.
James Metcalf came in 7th in the V45 category at Holmfirth.
Xavi finished 16th Senior at Huddersfield New College last weekend.
Nigel’s been representing on the continent in Austrian CX racing at the “King and Queen of Seeslacht race” on the 15th October, and the “Tage des Querfeldeinsports” just outside Vienna this weekend.
Andy, Hutch, Rob and Mike Walker will be in Yorkshire CX action at Thornes Park today (22nd October)
Charity Club Run next weekend
As discussed in the club meeting, In lieu of a reliability ride this year we’ll be running a special club run next Saturday (28th October) in aid of Yorkshire Air Ambulance; a charity that hopefully we’ll never need to make use of, but would all like to be well funded if ever we do.
This will be a standard Winter club run at a reasonably steady pace with a cafe stop, leaving from the shelter on Haxby Rd at 9am.
Donations will be collected in person on the day as well as online this week and after. I’ll be setting up a donations page in the next couple of days and will publicise once it’s live.
Dig deep and support the cause, and have a great ride.
